Decor printed products are important prefabricates for the wood processing industry, which will be used for surface design on furniture and laminated floorings. Whether in form of single or multi color decors, finish films (impregnated decor papers) or as melamine films, decor printed products are characterized with a high diversity of designs and variants. Finish goods will mostly be delivered as reels or sheets. • Management of decor development projects for planning and costing of all required resources for development of decors and decor elements with milestone scheduling, progress check and total integration with material management, controlling and finance; developments orders for decors as cost objects with or without reference to customer and business segment.
• Planning and scheduling of lab orders for decor samples with required lab cylinders for press proof, documentation of sampling inspection results (color and machine settings) for reference in a customer order or in a new sampling inspection.

• Two step process for paper reservation and procurement, with a paper requirement planning based on tonnage first and then a planning with precise paper widths; using vendor managed inventory (VMI) scenarios with contracts and scheduling agreements which will be synchronized with the paper vendor via EDI data transfer, all notifications and material movements will be based on reels.
• Capacity reservations for decor campaigns which will be consumed by the incoming customer orders; all decors will be scheduled with optimum set up times within the campaign; different widths for a customer decor will be combined to a sequence, so that a campaign which consists of multiple sequences is already pre-optimized.
• LP.Solution Component “Shop Floor Data Collection” allows a continuous reel management with raw materials, semi finish goods and finish goods based on handling units; a continuous reel traceability is ensured with a combination of material postings and time events when generating and consuming handling units; QM integration provides a reel based maintenance of inspection results with a usage decision afterwards; barcodes on reel labels and pallet labels allow a material flow control using scanner.
• LP.Solution Component “Traceability Report” allows a complete traceability of consumed, produced and slit reels for production and customer orders with a time stamp and batch, parent and child reel relationships.
• LP.Solution Component SAP-JDF-Interface enables a direct PDC/EDC integration of all prepress, press and postpress management systems with LP.Packaging. Product specific and job based data will be transferred as JDF from LP.Packaging to preset printing, die cutting and folding and gluing systems. During production, machine data and status messages are send to the interface as JMF(Audits) for import in LP.Packaging.
